TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Company Information

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of courier and logistics services by Rhema Shipping & Logistics (“the Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) to customers (“you” or “the Customer”). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


1. SERVICE DESCRIPTION

1.1 Air Freight Services
International and regional courier service for packages and documents. Standard delivery timeframe: 3–7 business days (depending on destination and customs clearance).

1.2 Sea Freight Services
Bulk and containerized shipping for goods to and from Jamaica. Standard delivery timeframe: 2–6 weeks (depending on port and customs clearance).

1.3 Ground Transportation Services
Local deliveries across Jamaica, including pick-up and drop-off services. Standard delivery timeframe: same day to 3 business days.

2. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Customers must ensure goods are securely packaged for handling and transit.
2.2 All required shipping documents must be provided (invoices, customs declarations, permits).
2.3 Shipment details (recipient address, contact number, and package description) must be accurate.
2.4 Prohibited or restricted items must not be shipped (see Section 6).
2.5 Customers are responsible for paying all applicable customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees.

2.6 Customers are responsibule for picking up or make arrangement for delivery of their items after payment. Failure to pickup items or neglect with over 20 days, automatically the items belongs to Rhema Shipping & Logistics


3. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Rhema Shipping & Logistics shall transport shipments with reasonable skill, care, and in compliance with Jamaican law and applicable international regulations.
3.2 Delivery commitments are made in good faith but may be subject to delays outside our control (see Section 8).
3.3 Tracking updates and customer service support will be provided where available.


4. PRICING AND PAYMENT

4.1 Fee Structure – Pricing is generally calculated per pound (lb) and/or dimensional weight. Additional charges may include:

4.2 Payment Terms – All shipments must be paid for upfront before dispatch.

4.3 Shipments will not be released or delivered until payment is received in full.


5. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

5.1 Standard Liability – Liability for loss, damage, or delay is limited to USD $200.00 per shipment or the actual value of the goods, whichever is lower.

5.2 Insurance – Customers may request shipment insurance for higher-value goods at an additional cost.

5.3 Claims – Claims must be submitted in writing within 7 days of delivery or expected delivery date.

7.1 Delivery timeframes are estimates and not guaranteed.
7.2 If the recipient is unavailable, re-delivery fees may apply.
7.3 Unclaimed packages – If unclaimed within 30 days, shipments may be returned at the Customer’s expense.
7.4 Storage Fees – Storage charges of JMD $200.00 per day apply after 7 days of non-collection.


8. FORCE MAJEURE

We are not liable for delays, damages, or non-performance caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:


9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

9.1 All complaints must first be submitted in writing to [email protected].
9.2 Unresolved disputes will be referred to mediation or arbitration under Jamaican law.
9.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica.


10. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

10.1 We collect customer data solely for service provision and processing shipments.
10.2 Information is stored securely and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law or to perform services (e.g., customs authorities).
10.3 We comply with the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020.


11. MODIFICATION OF TERMS

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance.


12. TERMINATION OF SERVICE

We may suspend or terminate service for fraud, misuse, non-payment, or repeated violation of these Terms.


13. REFUND POLICY

13.1 Refunds are only issued when shipments are undelivered due to Company error.
13.2 Refunds are not granted for delays due to customs, inaccurate customer information, force majeure, or prohibited items.
13.3 Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days via the original payment method.


14. LEGAL DISCLAIMER

We strive to provide reliable services but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free delivery. Our liability is strictly limited to these Terms.
